It's been quite a week for Kevin O’Connell.
He agreed to terms on a contract extension with the Minnesota Vikings on Tuesday and was recognized by the 101 Awards on Wednesday.
This morning, The Associated Press announced he is one of five finalists for the Coach of the Year Award.

And he's not the only Viking to be a categorical finalist.
The AP and the NFL also announced Vikings Defensive Coordinator Brian Flores is a finalist for Assistant Coach of the Year, and quarterback Sam Darnold is a finalist for Comeback Player of the Year.
O'Connell, Flores and Darnold were instrumental in Minnesota going 14-3 to record the second most wins in franchise history and more than double the preseason projected win total of 6.5.
Flores' commitments to innovation and application helped the Vikings tie for the NFL lead with 33 takeaways and rank fifth in points against.
Darnold turned in the finest season of his career and one of the best in franchise history.
Winners will be announced during NFL Honors, which begins at 8 p.m. (CT) on Thursday, Feb. 6. The show from the Saenger Theatre in New Orleans will be broadcast by FOX and NFL Network and streamed on NFL+. Visit NFL.com/honors for more information.
