Keenum Up for 'Clutch Performer' Award for Week 12

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. —Vikings quarterback Case Keenum* *has been **nominated for the Castrol EDGE Clutch Performer of the Week** for Week 12, the NFL announced Tuesday.

Keenum outdueled fellow Texas native Matthew Stafford on Thanksgiving Day in leading the Vikings to a 30-23 victory over the Lions.

Keenum completed 21 of 30 passes for 282 yards that included touchdown tosses of 1 and 22 yards to Kyle Rudolph in the first half. The quarterback also reached the end zone on a 9-yard run — his first rushing score with the Vikings — and totaled a passer rating of 121.8.

Minnesota built a 17-point lead on Detroit late in the second quarter and early in the third before withstanding a late rally.

After the Lions made it a four-point game in the fourth quarter, Keenum and the offense put together a pair of nine-play drives to use more than eight minutes of clock and help finish the Vikings seventh straight victory.

The award recognizes the "best performer or performance of the week that represents strength in key moments."

Vikings receiver Adam Thielen was nominated for the award in Week 11.

The other four players nominated this week are Steelers receiver Antonio Brown, Rams quarterback Jared Goff, Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly and Cardinals kicker Phil Dawson.

Fans may vote for Keenum at **nfl.com/castrol-edge** through 2 p.m. (CT) Friday. The winner will be announced on NFL Total Access on NFL Network and posted on NFL.com.
