Justin Jefferson's Toe Drag Catch at Packers Garners 'Way to Play' Award

EAGAN, Minn. — Justin Jefferson's astounding toe-drag catch in Minnesota's 31-29 win at Green Bay last Sunday has again been recognized for its excellence.

The 13-yard reception that converted a third-and-12 from the Green Bay 44-yard line was selected for the NFL Way to Play Award, fueled by Gatorade and announced Wednesday morning on Good Morning Football.

Jefferson was able to extend his arms and throttle down, planting his right foot and dragging his left on his way out of bounds.

Most of the Packers sideline didn't react or try to argue against a catch. Cornerback Eric Stokes lobbied for an incompletion, which was how the play was initially called.

Vikings Head Coach Kevin O'Connell, however, challenged the ruling, and the call was reversed. The Vikings were able to move the ball another 27 yards but were stuffed on third-and-1 and fourth-and-1 runs inside the Green Bay 5-yard line.

The NFL Way to Play Awards were created to raise awareness of proper playing technique and to reward those who lead by example at all levels of football. The NFL Foundation will award a $5,000 equipment grant through USA Football to a youth or high school football program of Jefferson's choice.

Jefferson's selection marks the second consecutive week a Viking has been honored with an NFL Way to Play Award. He joins outside linebacker Jonathan Greenard, who was recognized in Week 3 for his technique during a sack of Houston quarterback C.J. Stroud.
