EAGAN, Minn. – It's No. 18 for No. 18.

Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson has been ranked in this year's "NFL Top 100" list, landing 18th in his fourth time being included in the countdown.

Ask around, though, and some will argue Jefferson should have ended up a little higher.

"I believe the No. 1 player in the NFL is Justin Jefferson," Vikings teammate Harrison Phillips said. "You look at everything in the man's first four years of his [career], and he's smashing every record."

Added fellow teammate Camryn Bynum: "He's No. 1. There's no debate about it."

How about asking Vikings left tackle Christian Darrisaw, who recently signed a long-term extension to remain in Minnesota, who the top player is?

"J.J., for sure," Darrisaw said with a grin.

Though Jefferson was hampered by a hamstring injury last season and played only 10 games (nine starts), the wideout still racked up 1,074 yards and five touchdowns on 68 catches. He averaged a career-high 107.4 yards per game.

Opponents have said Jefferson "just lets his swagger show on the field" and has an innate ability to get open. Former Vikings QB Kirk Cousins pointed to a play against the Chargers as his favorite during their final season together. On second-and-15 from near midfield, Jefferson turned a short catch into a 52-yard touchdown.

"It was just fun to see his breakaway speed, his elite ability after the catch," Cousins said. "He's always been elite after the catch."

Jefferson has four pro seasons under his belt and has totaled 392 receptions for 5,899 yards and 30 touchdowns. He went to three straight Pro Bowls from 2020-22 and was named a First-Team All-Pro by The Associated Press following his 1,809-yard showing in 2022.

"He can do anything you ask him to do," Bynum said.

Launched in 2011, "NFL Top 100" is an ordering of the league's top players by their peers. Jefferson previously landed at No. 53 in 2021, No. 17 in 2022 and skyrocketed to No. 2 last year.

Jefferson joins Vikings safety Harrison Smith (No. 93) in this year's Top 100.
