EAGAN, Minn. — Justin Jefferson and Andrew DePaola have been named First-Team All-Pro, The Associated Press announced Friday.
The pair is joined by Vikings outside linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel, who earned Second-Team honors.
Not only did Jefferson once again land on the First-Team roster, but he was a unanimous selection by the committee, earning all 50 first-place votes.
Rob Maaddi, AP Senior NFL writer, conducted a brief interview with Jefferson via videoconference following Minnesota's practice Thursday, then surprised him with the news.
"Wooooow," Jefferson reacted with a wide grin. "That's crazy. That's respect, right there. That's what I call respect. That's love. Thank you; I appreciate that."
This year marks Jefferson's second time (2022) earning First-Team All-Pro honors. He was named to the Second Team in 2020 and 2021.
Jefferson recorded 103 catches for 1,522 yards (14.9 average) and 10 touchdowns in his fifth pro season. He finished sixth in receptions, second in receiving yards and tied for sixth in TD catches on the season.
Against the Seahawks in Week 16, the 25-year-old racked up 10 catches for 144 yards and two touchdowns, surpassing Anthony Carter (478) for the fifth-most receptions in franchise history with 484.
Jefferson, whom the Vikings drafted 22nd overall in 2020, is the first player in NFL history with more than 7,000 receiving yards in just five seasons. Thus far, he has 495 career catches for 7,432 yards and 40 touchdowns.
DePaola has earned All-Pro honors in three straight seasons: First Team in 2022 and Second Team in 2023 before now returning to the top ranking.
DePaola has been a consistent presence for the Vikings specialists. He started the season extremely strong and returned to action in Week 14 without missing a beat after a thumb injury suffered against the Colts landed him on Injured Reserve.
A season-long team captain, DePaola also recently was voted to his third consecutive Pro Bowl.
Van Ginkel received his first career All-Pro designation after having a monster season for Minnesota.
In his first season in Purple (sixth overall), Van Ginkel started all 17 games and totaled a career-high 11.5 sacks, nearly doubling his previous benchmark of 6.0 in 2023. He also had career highs in tackles (79) tackles for loss (18) and interceptions, snagging two and returning both for touchdowns. He also recorded a forced fumble, six passes defensed and 19 quarterback hits.
Van Ginkel was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week after his Week 16 outing in Seattle, where he contributed five tackles, 2.0 sacks and three QB hits.
