EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings on Tuesday announced their first wave of roster reductions ahead of the 2022 regular season.
All NFL teams were required to trim their rosters from the 90-man offseason maximum to 85 by the end of Tuesday.

Bargas has appeared in one game in each of the past two seasons since joining Minnesota as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He played seven snaps on offense in 2020 and five snaps on special teams in 2021. Bargas played two offensive snaps and seven snaps on special teams in Minnesota's preseason opener Sunday at Las Vegas.
Hennigan and Stevenson had joined the Vikings as undrafted rookies this spring. Hennigan was unable to play at Las Vegas. Stevenson played 11 defensive snaps against the Raiders, recording one tackle.
Mintze signed with Minnesota in June. He appeared in six games with Denver in 2021. Mintze played 18 defensive snaps and seven snaps on special teams against the Raiders.
Smith played eight snaps on defense and six snaps on special teams at Las Vegas. Originally a fifth-round pick by Seattle in 2015, Smith joined Minnesota in 2021. He was released during preseason roster cuts and signed to the Vikings practice squad. Smith was elevated multiple times last season and appeared in five games for the Vikings.
NFL teams must reduce their rosters from 85 to 75 by Aug. 23 and from 75 to 53 by Aug. 30.
