EAGAN, Minn. — The Minnesota Vikings (6-2) will open the second half of their 2019 season by visiting the Kansas City Chiefs (5-3) at noon (CT) Sunday.
Here are three notes on the matchup and how to watch or listen to the action from Arrowhead Stadium.
Series standings: The game will be the 13th meeting between the franchises in the regular season or postseason. The Vikings are 5-6 in the regular season and also lost to the Chiefs in Super Bowl IV on Jan. 11, 1970. Minnesota is 1-4 all-time at Arrowhead Stadium, with the lone victory occurring on Dec. 14, 1974.
Potent offenses: The Vikings have racked up at least 430 yards of offense in four consecutive games, which has tied the Chiefs (Weeks 1-4) for the longest streak in the NFL in 2019.
Chess game between coaches: Minnesota Head Coach Mike Zimmer calls plays on defense, and Kansas City Head Coach Andy Reid calls plays on offense, staying true to their roots on each side of the ball. Reid got his first head coaching job in Philadelphia in 1999, which was Zimmer's final season as Dallas' defensive backs coach before he became the Cowboys defensive coordinator. Zimmer didn't receive his first opportunity to be a head coach until 2014. Zimmer ranks sixth among active coaches with a win percentage of .608 in regular-season games. Reid is just ahead with a success clip of .611. It will be fun to watch these veterans play chess.
