EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings on Wednesday announced Harrison Smith has been activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list and that Patrick Peterson has been designated for return/returned to practice from Injured Reserve.
Smith, who told reporters in June that he was unvaccinated, has missed the past two games since landing on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.
Rookie Camryn Bynum filled in for the five-time Pro Bowler and had a sack and interception over the past two games.
Peterson suffered a hamstring injury late in Minnesota's Week 6 game at Carolina.
The past three games are the first the 11-year pro has ever missed because of an injury.
Peterson hinted at his return on social media earlier this week.
The Vikings will have a three-week window in which to evaluate Peterson before they must activate him or revert him to Injured Reserve.
Second-year pro Cameron Dantzler has filled in for Peterson.
The Vikings (4-5) host the Packers (8-2) at noon (CT) Sunday.
