EAGAN, Minn. — In the final days of the 2023 Minnesota Legislative Session, state leaders passed legislation allowing the charitable foundations of Minnesota's professional sports teams to pursue specialty license plates for fans. The bill awaits Governor Walz's signature, at which point the Minnesota Vikings Foundation intends to seek a specialty plate with all funds supporting the Foundation's mission to advance the health and well-being of children in Minnesota.

The legislation is only the first step in the process, as the Vikings Foundation will now collaborate with the Department of Public Safety to develop a final license plate design and a timeline for release, which could come as early as January 2024.
