EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings on Tuesday announced they have signed former Bears cornerback Duke Shelley to their practice squad.
Shelley was waived by Chicago on Aug. 31.
The fourth-year veteran has appeared in 30 career games with six starts, recording 53 tackles with four passes defensed. Shelley played in 11 games in 2020 and 10 more last season when he started a career-high four games.
The native of Tucker, Georgia, was a standout at Kansas State before entering the NFL as a sixth-round selection (205th overall) by the Bears in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Shelley was in Chicago with Vikings Assistant Head Coach Mike Pettine and defensive line coach Chris Rumph in 2021.
The addition of Shelley brings the Vikings practice squad to its maximum of 16 players.
