EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings are getting a big boost to their defensive line.
Minnesota announced Thursday that it has activated Dalvin Tomlinson off the Reserve/COVID-19 list. The defensive tackle was put on the list last week and missed Sunday's game against the 49ers.
Tomlinson, a prized free-agent addition who signed a multi-year deal this past offseason, has played 398 defensive snaps in 2021, which accounts for 58 percent of Minnesota's total defensive snaps.

According to coaches' stats, he has recorded 26 total tackles with 1.5 sacks and a fumble recovery.
Tomlinson's potential return could also coincide with the return of fellow defensive tackle Michael Pierce, who has missed the past seven games with an elbow injury. Pierce, a 2020 free-agent signee, was designated for return Wednesday off Injured Reserve.
Armon Watts has started the past seven games in Pierce's role, while James Lynch started for Tomlinson against San Francisco.
