Bud Grant will once again brave the elements in front of fans as the Vikings head to Duluth this weekend for the first ever Polaris-Vikings Winterfest. Taking place Friday, February 19, through Sunday, February 21, the Vikings Children's Fund event will be attended by an array of current and former Vikings players, and the Vikings cheerleaders.
The three-day event will kick off at 9:00 a.m. with a live broadcast of Vikings play-by-play announcer Paul Allen's radio show on the team's flagship radio station, KFAN 100.3. The weekend's festivities are set to include a youth football clinic, Polaris snowmobile lessons and adventures, Vikings meet-and-greets at local Duluth restaurants and Duluth Lawn & Sport and a party to conclude the weekend with over $30,000 in prizes to be given away.
Current players scheduled to attend include RB Matt Asiata, T T.J. Clemmings, WR Stefon Diggs, LB Chad Greenway, RB Jerick McKinnon, WR Cordarrelle Patterson, DT Shamar Stephen, and WR Adam Thielen. Alumni scheduled to attend include Pete Bercich, Greg Coleman, Bud Grant, Robert Griffith, E.J. Henderson, Bob Lurtsema, Doug Sutherland and Henry Thomas.
Since 1978, over $11 million has been raised for the VCF with nearly $6 million allocated to support research at the University of Minnesota's Department of Pediatrics.
