EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings on Monday were awarded center Cohl Cabral through a waiver claim after his release from the Houston Texans.
Cabral initially entered the NFL with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent in spring 2020. He spent part of last season on the Rams practice squad and then joined the Texans practice squad to finish the year before signing a future contract for 2021. He has not appeared in an NFL game.
A native of Rancho Cucamonga, California, Cabral attended Arizona State and became a starter as a sophomore in 2017. He opened 39 games (37 at center and two at left tackle) for the Sun Devils in his final three seasons after appearing in 11 games as a freshman.
Cabral was voted as a captain by teammates in each of his final two seasons.
