EAGAN, Minn. — Christian Darrisaw is considered one of the NFL's best young tackles.
And the 25-year-old will be a Viking for years to come after agreeing to terms on a four-year contract extension with Minnesota on Tuesday. The deal will place Darrisaw under contract through the 2029 season.
Darrisaw has started 39 of 41 games played for the Vikings since his selection as the 23rd overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft.
Those numbers include starting all 15 games played in 2023, when he logged a career-high 982 snaps and Minnesota ranked fourth in passing attempts and touchdowns and fifth in passing yards. That production occurred despite the Vikings starting four different quarterbacks in one season for the first time in franchise history.
Darrisaw has impressed as a pass blocker and has exerted his will during run plays, showcasing the strength and athleticism that made him a prized prospect.
The Maryland native made his first career start at Carolina on Oct. 17, 2021, and he helped the Vikings rack up 571 yards of offense in a 34-28 overtime win in which the offensive line did not allow a sack.
During the 2023 season, Darrisaw recorded the third-highest pass block grade (85.3) among all offensive linemen who played at least 50 percent of their teams snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.
