The Vikings are bolstering their cornerbacks room.

Minnesota signed free agent cornerback Chandon Sullivan, the team announced Friday.

Sullivan, who originally joined the Eagles as an undrafted rookie in 2018, has spent the past three seasons across the border in Green Bay. He started 10 of the 17 games he played for the Packers last season, totaling 31 tackles (25 solo), two tackles for loss and four passes defensed. He also nabbed a career-high three interceptions.

Sullivan has started 21 of 54 total NFL games thus far. He will join a Vikings defense led by new Defensive Coordinator Ed Donatell.

Here are five things to know about Sullivan:

1. Garnered attention at Georgia State

Sullivan played for Georgia State University, where he became one of the school's most decorated players.

He was a three-time all-conference selection in recognition of his on-field talent, and as a senior in 2017, Sullivan was also named a First-Team CoSIDA Academic All-American. Sullivan was the first Academic All-American in Georgia State history.

In 2015, he recorded the first pick-six in Panthers history (program began playing games in 2010).

Sullivan served as a team captain in 2017. He finished his senior season with 46 tackles, one interception, five pass breakups, one tackle for loss and one fumble recovery.

He became the first player in Georgia State history to receive an invite to the Reese's Senior Bowl and also participated in the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine.

2. Past experience with Pettine

In 2019 and 2020, Sullivan played under Packers Defensive Coordinator Mike Pettine, who this spring was hired by new Vikings Head Coach Kevin O'Connell as Minnesota's assistant head coach.

Sullivan was playing for Pettine when he notched his first NFL pick-six, intercepting then-Lions QB Matthew Stafford in 2020.

Pettine's familiarity with Sullivan certainly will be helpful as the cornerback joins a new team and defensive system.

Sullivan also teamed with new Vikings outside linebacker Za'Darius Smith for the past three seasons.

3. Impressive vertical

At the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine, Sullivan recorded a vertical leap of 40.5 inches, which ranked highest among cornerbacks who participated in the drill that year and third highest among defensive backs.

Listed at 5-foot-11, Sullivan also has shown off his vertical on the hardwood, as seen in this Instagram video from May 2014:

4. Gifted interception ball

Sullivan recorded his first NFL interception in Week 5 of the 2019 season, when he picked off Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and helped lead Green Bay to a win.

The cornerback later tweeted a photo showing that he gave the football to his grandfather.

5. From teammates to rivals

Sullivan may be moving teams but staying with the NFC North, which means he'll remain in the same conference as former Georgia State teammate Penny Hart.

Hart joined the Seahawks as an undrafted rookie in 2020 and has contributed mainly on special teams for the NFC West squad.

Sullivan and Hart had the opportunity to swap jerseys when Seattle and Green Bay met in Week 10 of the 2021 season.
