EAGAN, Minn. – The Vikings have acquired left tackle Cam Robinson via trade.
Minnesota made the deal with Jacksonville in the wake of Christian Darrisaw suffering season-ending ACL and MCL injuries against the Vikings Week 8 loss at the Rams.
A 2017 second-round pick (34th overall), Robinson has spent the entirety of his NFL career thus far with the Jaguars. He is slated to become a free agent at the culmination of the 2024 season.
Robinson has started all 91 games he's played for Jacksonville, including seven this season.
In 2023, he received a career-best 78.8 pass block grade from analytics site Pro Football Focus, which ranked 17th among tackles with 500-plus total snaps. His 13 pressures against were the fifth fewest among all offensive linemen that season with at least that many snaps. The only offensive linemen who fared better were Miami guard Robert Hunt (5 pressures), Indianapolis center Ryan Kelly (7), Miami tackle Terron Armstead (7) and Jaguars guard Tyler Shatley (9).
Robinson has posted a pass block grade above 72.0 the past four seasons (2021-24).

Here are five things to know about the Vikings new tackle:
1. Off to a strong start
Robinson has played well over seven games this season and has especially garnered attention over the past few outings.
Anthony DiBona, NFL analyst for Pro Football Network, noted Robinson "was playing like one of the best left tackles in the NFL in recent weeks," allowing just two total pressures in 117 pass-blocking snaps.
According to PFF, Robinson has given up four sacks, three hits and eight hurries on 239 pass block snaps in 2024.
2. 'Roll Tide' Robinson
Robinson was a standout at Alabama after choosing the Crimson Tide over LSU coming out of high school.
He started all 14 games as a true freshman, becoming the first freshman to start at left tackle for Alabama since Andre Smith did so in 2006. Robinson was credited with allowing just three sacks that season and helped block for an offense that averaged 484.5 total yards per game.
Robinson was named a Freshman All-American by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) and never looked back. He went on to have another two successful seasons before foregoing his senior campaign to declare for the 2017 NFL Draft.
In the Vikings locker room, Robinson will connect with fellow Alabama alumni Dallas Turner and Will Reichard. The rookies, of course, did not overlap with Robinson in college.
3. Showcased speed
At the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine, Robinson impressed in the 40-yard dash with an official time of 5.15 seconds. That tied with Troy's Antonio Garcia for second-fastest among all offensive tackles who completed the drill, trailing only Garrett Bolles (4.95).
4. Hails from Louisiana
Robinson grew up in Louisiana and attended West Monroe High School, where he was a two-time First-Team 5A Louisiana All-State selection by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association.
Robinson was considered the unanimous No. 1 tackle recruit of his class.
5. Played Family Feud
Robinson competed with fellow NFL rookies on a celebrity episode of Family Feud that was pre-recorded and aired in September 2018.
He received some good-natured ribbing from host Steve Harvey when he had to answer the question, "If you're not good-looking, you should work on your what?"
Robinson's eventual answer of "bank account" was on the board, keeping his team safe. He played with Jamal Adams, Myles Garrett, Tre'Davious White and Mitchell Trubisky.
The rookie team faced a team of veterans Arik Armstead, LeGarrette Blount, Stefon Diggs, Gerald McCoy and Tyrod Taylor.
The veterans ultimately won a $25,000 prize for charity.
