EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings on Thursday confirmed they have interviewed Brian Flores for their open defensive coordinator position.
Flores is currently a senior defensive assistant and linebackers coach with the Pittsburgh Steelers, a role he began in 2022.
Flores' NFL career includes work in the New England Patriots personnel department and as an assistant, as well as three seasons as head coach of the Miami Dolphins (2019-21). The Patriots won four Super Bowls during Flores' time with New England (XXXIX, XLIX, LI and LIII).

Flores attended Boston College (2000-2003), beginning his career as a defensive back before switching to linebacker. He earned an undergraduate English degree and a master's degree in administration. Flores was selected to the 2003 All-Big East Academic Team.

Flores was born in Brooklyn, New York, on Feb. 24, 1981. He attended Poly Prep Country Day School.
