EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings added to their defense for the third time in their first four picks when they tabbed Oklahoma linebacker Brian Asamoah.
The redshirt junior helped the Sooners win three Big 12 championships and appear in the College Football Playoff in two seasons.
Oklahoma went a combined 44-8 during Asamoah's time with the Sooners.
The native of Columbus, Ohio, played in 12 games with 10 starts in 2021 when he led the team with 90 tackles. Asamoah recorded 4.0 tackles for loss and forced two fumbles, earning Second-Team All-Big 12 honors from coaches and media members.
He also was a finalist for the Butkus Award in 2021.
Asamoah graduated in December 2021 with a degree in human relations, and he was a two-time Academic All-Big 12 honoree.
