EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has been nominated for the FedEx Air & Ground Player of the Week for the sixth time this season.
Peterson rushed for 104 yards on 22 carries (4.7 per attempt) and a touchdown during Minnesota's 49-17 win over the New York Giants on Sunday night. The Vikings secured a playoff berth with the victory.
Peterson has won the award once already this season. He earned the honor after a Week 10 performance in which he ran for 203 yards on 26 carries (7.8 per attempt), including an 80-yard touchdown on his final carry in 30-14 victory over Oakland.
The award is determined through fan voting (visit **NFL.com/FedEx** to vote).
The other nominees for the Ground award are: Pittsburgh RB DeAngelo Williams and New Orleans RB Tim Hightower.
The nominees for the Air award are: Detroit QB Matthew Stafford, Washington QB Kirk Cousins and New Orleans QB Drew Brees.
Voting is scheduled to continue until 2 p.m. (CT) Thursday.
The winners are announced every Thursday afternoon, and FedEx and the NFL will award a $2,000 donation in each player's name to their teams' local area chapters of the American Red Cross to assist with disaster relief and preparedness.
