Eden Prairie, MN (December 3, 2015) – Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Month for the month of November.
Peterson rushed for an NFL-leading 634 rushing yards on 117 carries and five touchdowns during the month. His 634 yards rushing in November are the most he has had in a single month since December 2012, when he rushed for a franchise-high 861 yards. The six-time Pro Bowler also set a team record for the most November rushing yards in 2015.
The Palestine, Texas, native has been nominated as the FedEx Ground Player of the Week three times this month, winning the award after his 203-yard rushing performance at Oakland (11/15).
The award marks the second time that Peterson has been named NFC Offensive Player of the Month, his first honor coming in December 2012, which culminated in Peterson being named the league's Most Valuable Player. He is the first Viking to win Player of the Month since Everson Griffen won the defensive award in October of last season.
The former Oklahoma Sooner currently ranks 18th on the NFL's all-time rushing list with 11,354 yards, recently surpassing John Riggins. Peterson leads the NFL with 1,164 rushing yards and is second in the league with eight rushing scores.
