EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings added their second offensive lineman of the draft by selecting guard Dru Samia in the fourth round on Saturday morning.

Minnesota took the senior out of Oklahoma with the 114th overall pick of the draft.

Here are five things to know about Samia:

1. Solid senior season

Samia was a Second-Team All-American as a senior in 2018 as he blocked for Heisman Trophy winner (and 2019 No. 1 overall pick Kyler Murray) at Oklahoma. He was also a First-Team All-Big 12 selection by coaches and media.

2. Plenty of experience

Samia played both tackle and guard in college, and started 48 total games for the Sooners. The 6-foot-5, 305-pound lineman started 38 games at right guard and 10 at right tackle.

3. No sacks, x2

According to analytics site Pro Football Focus, Samia did not allow a sack during the 2018 season on 410 pass-block snaps. He also did not allowed his defender to get to the quarterback on any of 391 pass-block snaps in 2016 when Baker Mayfield was Oklahoma's quarterback.

4. Expert take

Dane Brugler of The Athletic ranked Samia as the **third-best guard prospect** in the draft.

Brugler had this to say about Samia in the pre-draft process:

"Well-constructed frame with broad shoulders and OK length...comfortable on his feet with adequate bend...strong upper body to latch and turn defenders from lanes...flashes violence in his hands...inline power, hip thrust and leg drive to move bodies in the run game."

5. All together now

Samia's performance in 2018 helped the Sooners win the Joe Moore Award, which is awarded to the college football's top offensive line. The Sooners went 12-2 and led the country with 48.4 points per game.
