The Vikings Entertainment Network is on the ground in Indianapolis ready to provide comprehensive coverage of the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine. The action will be thick as NFL head coaches, general managers and media converge for a few days inside the Indiana Convention Center before some of the country's top college prospects step on the field to perform in front of the entire League.

Here are five storylines to watch this year at the Combine.

1. Experts will weigh in on Vikings quarterback situation

As GM Rick Spielman told vikings.com in his pre-Combine interview, the Vikings will have a decision or two to make at quarterback in the next few weeks. While some time must still pass before the team reveals its plans, the speculation season has officially opened with the beginning of the Combine. We will stroll the hallways of the convention center in search of NFL analysts to ask them what they think will and should happen for the Vikings quarterback position.

2. Assessing the Vikings options at No. 30 overall

For the pro football following world, the Combine is the unofficial launch of the season in which attention is paid to (former) college football players. Which position groups are deep and which are not? Who are the fast risers? All of these questions will begin to be analyzed at the Combine and Vikings fans will begin thinking about what they hope the team does with its 1st-round pick (No 30 overall).

3. Free agency heats up

The Combine is tied to the draft, of course, but free agency falls first on the NFL calendar (March 14) and that means much of the buzz around the Combine early in the week will be about free agency. It's expected that the quarterback market will be more robust than usual and it won't be surprising to see the Vikings tied into that discussion. But there are other interesting free agent storylines, as well. 4. Who are the Vikings priority re-signings?

Sometimes the best free agent signings your team can make are re-signings. Tom Johnson, Jerick McKinnon, Trae Waynes, Shamar Stephen, Brian Robison and all three quarterbacks who played in games for the Vikings last year are all scheduled to hit the market on March 14. Will the Vikings be able to lock any of them up before the launch of free agency?

5. Experts will weigh in on offensive changes in Minnesota

The Vikings offense made great strides from 2016 to 2017 and much of the credit for that improvement should go to Pat Shurmur. Now, though, Shurmur is the head coach of the New York Giants and the Vikings hired John DeFilippo as their new offensive coordinator. Todd Downing, who began his coaching career with the Vikings but was most recently the offensive coordinator in Oakland, was also added to the staff. How will these changes affect the Vikings offense? What new ideas will DeFilippo install and will he be able to blend those new ideas seamlessly with the schemes and concepts that are already working well in Minnesota?
