After picking up their seventh win of the season last Sunday in Jacksonville, the Vikings are still very much in play for a postseason berth.
The first order of business for the defending NFC North champions is a game against the 6-7 Indianapolis Colts. The Colts are coming off of a home loss to the Houston Texans. A victory on Sunday would give the Vikings a sweep over the AFC South and place them another step closer to making the playoffs.
The Vikings look to win back-to-back games when they host Indianapolis tomorrow at noon (CT) at U.S. Bank Stadium. Tomorrow's game will be broadcast on CBS and can be heard on the Vikings' flagship radio station KFAN FM 100.3.
Aside from Sunday's game against Indianapolis, Vikings fans should play close attention to these three NFL contests this week.
Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears, noon (CT)
Winners of three straight games, the Packers look like a different team than the one that lost four straight in the middle of the season. After a 38-10 win over the Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay will try to keep its playoff hopes alive in what's expected to be one of the coldest games in NFL history tomorrow in Chicago.
The Bears have been officially eliminated from playoff contention, but that doesn't mean they haven't given up on their season. After a win over San Francisco in Week 13, the Bears took Detroit to the wire last week on the road. The Bears season closes out in Week 17 with a road contest at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Detroit Lions at New York Giants, noon (CT)
This game might be the most intriguing matchup in the NFL in Week 15 and not just for Vikings fans. Both teams are battling to secure postseason berths, and the New York Giants are still chasing the Cowboys for the NFC East. Coming off a big win over the Cowboys, the Giants return home to host the NFC North-leading Lions.
The Lions, winners of five straight and eight out of their past nine, look to take the next step toward clinching the division. If Detroit wins, the Vikings will not be able to repeat as NFC North champs, but could be helped in their bid for a possible Wild Card berth.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Dallas Cowboys, 7:25 (CT)
Tampa Bay enters Sunday night's game with five straight wins, while the Cowboys are coming off of just their second loss of the season. The Vikings are a game back of the Buccaneers in the Wild Card race. The Cowboys can lock up the NFC East with a win and a Giants loss or tie.
Last week the Cowboys lost their second game of the season, both coming at the hands of the Giants. The storyline for them this week has been if Tony Romo could return to action and replace Dak Prescott this week, although comments from both Owner Jerry Jones and Head Coach Jason Garrett seem to squash that idea.
