EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — The Vikings were back at work Tuesday after a day off, practicing outside at Winter Park in preparation for Friday night's preseason game in Seattle.

Minnesota was in full pads as it went through a 2-hour practice.

The Vikings will practice Wednesday before traveling to Seattle on Thursday.

Here are three observations from Tuesday's session:

1. Blocking out the noise

Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer said Tuesday morning that Friday night's preseason game will have an in-season atmosphere thanks to the crowd noise in Seattle.

Zimmer then forced his offense into a pressure situation by playing crowd noise at full volume on the sideline at practice in an attempt to replicate the environment at CenturyLink Field.

Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford went on a silent count and excelled in the setting, tossing a 78-yard touchdown to wide receiver Stefon Diggs in a team drill.

Bradford later twice moved the chains on third down in team drills, hitting wide receiver Jarius Wright for a first down while later finding tight end David Morgan all alone on the sideline for a nice gain.

2. Thielen, Vikings thrive in clutch

Score this one a win for the Vikings offense.

Bradford and his unit had the ball at their own 37-yard line with one timeout, needing a field goal with just over a minute on the clock at the end of Tuesday's session.

With the offense out of timeouts and facing a crucial third-and-7 from its own 41-yard line, Bradford and wide receiver Adam Thielen delivered in the clutch as they connected on a 29-yard gain.

Bradford spiked the ball and was able to advance five more yards, leading to a 42-yard field goal try by kicker Kai Forbath.

Forbath nailed the kick with seconds remaining.

3. Every man for himself

The Vikings went mano a mano Tuesday as pass protection was a focal point of individual drills. Running backs and tight ends took on linebackers before safeties later jumped into the mix against the offensive players.

Vikings running back Latavius Murray, who also took part in team drills, showed his prowess as he held up nicely against linebackers Anthony Barr and Noor Davis and safety Antone Exum.

Running back Dalvin Cook and fullback C.J. Ham also fared well in pass protection, while Davis later used a power move against tight end Nick Truesdell.
