EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — The Vikings offense withstood many challenges in 2016, whether it was overcoming injuries to key players or navigating a coaching change midway through the season.

Minnesota's up-and-down season on offense ended with the unit finishing 23rd in the NFL at 20.4 points per game and ranking 28th in total yards per game (315.1).

While the Vikings struggled at times to run the ball, the aerial attack was efficient and multipronged. Five different players caught at least 40 passes.

Here's a look at 10 numbers of note from the 2016 season:

71.6 — completion percentage by Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford, which set both an NFL and franchise record; Bradford completed 395 of his 552 pass attempts. The 395 completions also set a Vikings record.

967 — number of receiving yards by Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen; the total was a career high for the former undrafted Minnesota native, who had 144 yards in 2015.

1,205 — number of total rushing yards by the Vikings in 2016, the lowest total of any team in the league; Jerick McKinnon led the way with 539 rushing yards.

83 —number of catches for Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph this season; the tally was the third-most by a tight end in 2016 and set a single-season record for a Minnesota tight end.

8 — number of starting offensive line combinations used by the Vikings in 2016; The most-used combination of T.J. Clemmings, Alex Boone, Joe Berger, Brandon Fusco and Jeremiah Sirles started four games together.

5 — number of players who lined up at left tackle for the Vikings; Matt Kalil started the first two games before the quartet of Clemmings, Jake Long, Sirles and Rashod Hill all took their turns protecting Bradford's blind side.

71 — length (in yards) of the Vikings longest offensive play of the season; Bradford connected with Thielen on a deep touchdown pass in Week 16 against Green Bay.

7 — number of touchdown catches by Rudolph, which was the highest by a Viking;  Running back Matt Asiata led the team with six rushing touchdowns.

84 — number of receptions for Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs; The second-year player set a career high and finished 14th among all wide receivers in catches.

38 —number of the Vikings highest point total of the 2016 season, set in Week 17's win over the Bears; Minnesota scored 30 or more points three times. The Vikings season-low in points came in Week 15's 34-6 loss to the Colts.
