Vikings Postgame Report: The Detroit Lions Outlast The Minnesota Vikings 31-29, Vikings Turn Sights To The Rams On Thursday Night - Wk 7

Welcome to the Vikings Postgame Report. The Minnesota Vikings fell to the Detroit Lions 31-29 at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday.

The Vikings started out hot, jumping out to a 10-0 lead early in the 1st quarter. Detroit then scored the next 21 points in the 2nd quarter to regain the lead. The Vikings and Lions traded points in the second half, including a 35-yard scoop-and-score by Ivan Pace Jr., which gave the Vikings a 29-28 advantage deep into the 4th quarter. Detroit kicker Jake Bates iced the game with a 44-yard field goal with 19 seconds remaining and the Vikings lost for the first time this season. RB Aaron Jones and WR Justin Jefferson scored the Vikings touchdowns in the game and kicker Will Reichard stayed perfect once again this week. QB Sam Darnold threw for 259 yards, had a TD pass, an INT, and took 4 sacks. Defensively, Andrew Van Ginkel had 2 sacks, while both Jonathan Greenard & Ivan Pace Jr. recorded a sack each. Pace Jr. led the team with 10 tackles in the game. Up next, the Vikings take on the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday Night Football at Sofi Stadium on Oct 24th.
